Dortmund have completed the signing of Shinji Kagawa from Manchester United on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

I am sorry because I know how good you are, a fantastic playmaker…but looks like it didn’t work out for you here, at Manchester United. And I’m honestly gutted it didn’t. I am sorry you didn’t get to play in your favourite position where you used to terrorise Bayern Munich’s defence, I am sorry you got wasted on the wings so many times because we have hundreds of number 10s.
I used to watch you sometimes back when you were still at Dortmund and I remember saying to my dad; “Dad did you see this guy, he’s very talented.” I never thought you’d joined United after that, but I’m glad you did. Thank you for everything. You are an amazing person and a great footballer. I will always remember your hat-trick vs Norwich, it was just like yesterday; the first Asian to score a hat-trick in the Premier League era. And of course winning our 13th Premier League title. Memories of you in a red shirt will never fade away. I really wish it’d work out for you at United, but I somehow always knew you belonged to Dortmund. With Klopp by your side. I wish you were given more games to show what you’re really capable of, but on the other hand, I am glad you can go back to a place where you’ll be played at your full potential. I’ll try not to miss a Dortmund game as from now on, just to see how you’re doing. Dortmund fans will be so glad to have you back and I understand them. Love you always, Shinji. And all the best!
